Meadows Riles To be Saturday
Funeral services for Willis E. Meadows, 57, of Coal City will be conducted at the Coal City Community Church at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Roland Kennedy and the Rev. T. E. Painter. Burial will be in the Ben Meadows Cemetery at Winding Gulf.
He died at a Beckley hospital at 11:30 a.m. yesterday. He had been ill since December and in the hospital for 10 days.
He was born at Abney, April 16, 1897. He was a storekeeper at Coal City, a member of Coal City Chapter 156 Masonic Lodge and the Coal City Eastern Star. He had always lived in Raleigh County. Survivors include his widow,
Virginia Ritter: his step-mother, Mrs. Ben Meadows of Winding Gulf: five brothers, C. M. of Beck- ley. Fred of Glen Morgan, Thomas of San Marcus, Texas, and Mil- ton and Wiley of Winding Gulf: three sister, Mrs. Easter Crouch of Piney View, Mrs. Howard Bair of Beckley and Mrs. Bob Fleshman of Winding Gulf; one son, Michael, at home.
The body will be taken from the Williams Funeral Home to the residence at 4 p.m. today. It will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
