- Maxine West
Maxine West, 88, of Beckley, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012, at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.
Born June 10, 1924, in Vanwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha Burgess Burdiss.
Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James West; brothers, Harry, Charles, Paul, Cornelius, Carl and Bill; and sisters, Catherine Farrar, Gertrude Meadows and Louise Dunn.
She is survived by her son, James; grandsons Scott and Larry; three nephews and eight nieces.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Rumberg officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Scott West, Tom Cooper, Rob Cooper, Pat Burdiss, Frank Whiteman and Roy Pack. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hosey, Alan Cummings, Curtis Herron, Frank Holtzaphel, Alen Penney and Mark McMahan.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
