Mrs. Gertrude Meadows, 44, of Coal City, died yesterday morning! at 7:30 at a local hospital after an illness of several months.
She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Methodist Church at Winding Gulf.
Mrs. Meadows. is survived by her husband, Willis C. Meadows. of Coal City: three sisters. Mrs. Kathleen Farrar, Mrs. Louise Canterbury and Miss Maxine Bur- diss, all of Coal City: and five brothers. Henry, Carl, Paul and Charles Burdiss, all of Coal City, and Bill Burdiss. of Beckley.
The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until Fri- day at 4 p. m., when it will be removed to the residence at Coal City.
Funeral services will be held at the Coal City Community Church Sunday at 2 p. m. The body will lie in state at the church an hour. before the service. The Rev. Row- land Kennedy and the Rev. Clyde: Meador will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.
The Coal City Eastern Star Lodge No. 136 and the Masons will take part in the services. The Ladies Aid Society will serve as flower bearers. Active pallbearers will be:
Anthony Kell, Jason Ritter, Joe Smith, Willard Smith, Lee Brogan, Wesley Thompson.
